About Seaside Coast College

About the College

A small, founder-led private training institution in development in British Columbia.

A small, focused institution

Seaside Coast College is a small, founder-led private training institution being established under the Private Training Act of British Columbia. We are building a single program, done well and kept small, with direct instructor access from the first day.

The Community Wellness Foundations Certificate — Older Adult Focus prepares graduates for entry-level, non-clinical roles supporting older adults in community settings such as seniors’ centres, community wellness programs, and program-support positions where connection and respect for the wisdom of experience matter most.

This is a theory-based, non-clinical program. It does not include clinical instruction, clinical simulation, personal care, practicum placements, or preparation for regulated health-care employment.

Our mission

To provide adult learners with foundational, theory-based knowledge in communication, person-centred support, community wellness, and professional ethics, so they are prepared for entry-level, non-clinical roles supporting older adults’ participation, social inclusion, and wellbeing in community settings.

Our approach

Small cohorts, direct access

Cohorts of 10, weekly office hours, and a one-business-day response to messages. The instructor knows your name and your work.

Theory-based and non-clinical

Foundational knowledge in communication, person-centred support, community wellness, and ethics. No clinical instruction or personal care.

Person-centred and respectful

Learning that promotes compassion, professionalism, cultural safety, and dignity in work with older adults.

Built for community settings

Preparation for entry-level, non-clinical community wellness support roles (NOC 4212). This occupation is not regulated in British Columbia.
